Memory training systems have been popular throughout the ages, some dating back to the ancient Greeks, with more recent ones being tested via the rigors of modern science starting in the 1950s. vita+apps sharp brings together three core components of memory exercises, Spatial, Pattern and N-Back Memory Training, to provide you a circuit-training of memory games that can help exercise the various capacities of your brain’s recall systems.
HOW IT WORKS
Your memory, especially short term memory, can be affected by normal aging, and different aspects of your memory typically "peak" at different ages, with cognitive processing skills, learning, and remembering names peaking as early as your late teens and early twenties. In addition to aging, other external forces - such as stress, depression and insomnia - can all affect our memory. We all have different innate memory abilities; set points from which we start that are based on genetics and the environments to which weve been exposed. But regardless of where we start, nearly all can benefit from an enhanced memory.
Spatial Memory consists of retaining information about your environment and its spatial orientation. For example, remembering paths and routes. Our Spatial Memory helps us find our way back from new locations when driving or walking. This process can be simulated using spatial exercise games in which you must remember and retrace a path using memory "landmarks" to complete a task.
Pattern Memory games stimulate spatial recall, which includes memory of visual patterns and locations of objects. These brain processes are evoked when you remember things like where you left your keys or parked your car. N-Back Training is derived from the N-Back assessment test that, since it was first introduced in 1958, has been used to measure several aspects of working memory. A series of studies, starting in 2008, have indicated that N-Back training may increase fluid intelligence and improve working memory.
Use: For best results - play vita+apps sharp at least 4 times a week for 12 weeks. Studies with similar apps show that the more and longer you play, the faster your memory will improve for games as well as related real life tasks.
